Hey ya'll. I'm new to all this as of today. saw the article in the Chatt. paper this morning and said "Hey! that looks like fun." My daughter and I just returned from our first search, DNF unfortunately. I hope I don't have to rent a backhoe to find some of these caches!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.

Welcome to the group Redsky! There are some that are tough, and some that are too easy - but many to choose from ;D Hopefully you won't need a backhoe for any, caches aren't supposed to be burried - although I have seen that stretched a little If you ever have any questions someone here will be happy to try and answer I am sure.

Welcome to the game, Redsky and daughter! Warning: geocaching can be habit-forming! ;D We have been involved in geocaching for over 2-1/2 years, since our 1st caching vacation to Hot Springs AR in the Fall of 2002. We most enjoy visiting so many interesting places through our caching travels, that we might not otherwise know about or visit if it weren't for the caching game. For us, it's about the place and the adventure, from secluded and little known parks around town, to mountain peaks with spectacular vistas, and about the people we meet, from like-minded fellow caching nuts, to gracious local folks wherever we go. We did find our very first cache... the hard way... by taking the 'gonzo' approach .18 mile up the hill... instead of getting a trail map first, and seeing that the trail zig-zagged up the hill in a longer but much easier approach. Live and learn! Welcome and Enjoy! Chip & Blair
