For those who have been waiting for the right moment to go and snag the 8 GCs and 1 TC and 1 Letterbox at the Chattanooga Audubon Society/Audubon Acres, here's a good opportunity coming up; Saturday July 2 they will have Free Admission all day, and an ice-cream social and a silent auction 12-3!
We're going to talk to them about possibly putting together a GC/TC event that day too... The organization is 100% cache-friendly; even their Executive Director set one GC on the grounds!

I've driven my family insane with my caching, so we cut a deal. I can drag them out for a full day of caching once a month. (I sometimes can persuade my son to go with me on the shorter hunts). So Audubon Acres has been on my list for awhile, and I've been saving it for that special whole-family Saturday visit due to the cache density (for some reason they don't think one cache is an appropriate ROI for a 4 hour hike ). I don't know if I can hold out until 07/02, so your letterbox log book may soon have 4 hand-carved stampings! As you've probably noticed, all my cache placements have been letterboxes. I'm definitely biased, so it's very exciting to see some popping up. When I was investigating caching in Nov. 2004 there was only ONE hybrid in the whole area (Dead Man's Curve) and it didn't even contain a custom stamp! So anyways, TerraCaches are always on top of my to-do list before Geocaches; and Letterboxes are always on my to-do list before all other types. So having to wait to hunt that TerraCache letterbox is driving me insane!

We volunteer at CAS and will be there to help with the auction and with the boxing/caching folks! All 10 could easily be done within 3-4 hours! To clarify -- the TC (Got Mushrooms?) that we have there is a mini -- no room for a stamp. The current LB is part of another GC there, and if you wait until the 2nd, we can guarantee a second LB will be there... somewhere... ;D We have several LBs in the works but are being slowed down by lack of time/talent for custom stamps. Know any good carvers for hire? We have the artwork pretty well finalized... We did find a stamp-shop in Greenwich Village which offered a stunning selection of stamps from tiny to huge, many very creative and/or semi-customizable. We partook of a few items from there, on the theory that most LBrs outside NY probably won't have seen the stamps...

I might be able to carve a few. But I am probably not of the caliber that you found at the Metro. If you've seen any of my logbook entries or found any of my TC's you'll know what I can pull off. If you want to drop off something in "The Six Thrones" I can give you feedback on whether I can manage it. The artwork must be in pencil or printed with a laser printer (necessary for acetone or heat transfers). Email me if you drop something off, so I'll know to pick it up.

I checked their website and also called their phone number, but I can't find any info for their hours of operation. Does anyone know the hours for Audubon Acres? Especially on weekends. Thanks

If Heel'n and the Ambassadors are any example, your work is just fine! Hopefully we can get together at CAS on the 2nd, or almost any Wednesday morning, if we know in advance...

Heel'n was cut on a laser engraver but that source is no longer available. I saw an advertisement for a small desktop laser engraver in PC Mag and visited their web page -- nearly died of a heart attack. Why do they advertise such an expensive thing in a consumer magazine on a page next to the $50 inkjet printer? I had my wife block off the 2nd, so maybe the weather will improve by then.
