Are advanced placement notices limited to only GC caches, or are TC announcements also allowed?

I'd say go ahead and annouce it. Although you might have to explain what a TC is. Hope it's a Terra cache! ;D

Yep, it'll be a Terracache Currently, there is only one Terracache within 100 miles of Chattanooga (it's aboout 85 miles from my house). And that only showed up 2 weeks ago. There are none in GA or SC currently, so the Southeast is in need. Consequently I have a score of zero and zero badges, which I'm sure my sponsors are thrilled about I probably won't have anything ready until March. It's taking a lot longer to create a good cache than I expected. I picked up several Ammo cans this week (I didn't have enough money for a CheaperThanDirt order, and the Brainered Army Surplus was too expensive, so I had to find the Red Bank store and a time slot to get out there). Now I've got to get a couple of different colors of Krylon/Rustoleum to camo the boxes a bit. A couple of them have unnatural shades of pink .

If anyone needs ammo cans I still have a few, and when these are gone plan to order more. My cost was $3.33 a piece, and will sell them for that.

I may take you up on that as soon as I deploy what I've got on hand. Hikenit: The Redbank prices were good that day, I wanted them quick, and I only needed a few. So I was willing to pay a tad bit above mail order. I did some quick math on what was in the photo, and 9 pallets would be hard to explain to SWMBO Very tempting, and hiding one of the monster brown cans would be a fun challenge. I've added JW surplus to my bookmarks. I'll compare total costs after shipping with CheaperThanDirt when the time comes for a big order. What source do you recommend for Decon or "small" containers. I'm looking for something the same size as the large Altoid tins (which I have a few), but weatherproof, CHEAP, and paintable. Did I mention CHEAP? My Scottish roots are growing more prominent with age.

a small box used for diving That's a good idea. I'll have to vist the local scuba and boating shops to see if anything strikes my fancy. I hadn't found any decons locally (that were in good condition), but they're just the right size for what I have in mind (trying to avoid going micro). I've considered the Triton Dry Cases, but only in special circumstances since an ammo can is a lot cheaper. www.ScubaShack.net

Darn I visited www.sprucemtsurplus.com and mistook the PayPal button as meaning they would take PayPal payments online. Then there was the $15.00 minimum order. Rats. I may still bite -- if I decide I need (and they have in stock) $15.00 worth of decon containers.

I bit. I was at Home Depot examining every possible container, and found a couple of possibilities. Maybe for another project, but the small decons were still the most cost effective. I returned to the Brainerd surplus store but still nothing in stock. So I ordered 7 from Spruce Mt. (meets the minimum order) for $15.75.
